Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially confirmed the release date for Ghost of Yōtei. The upcoming action-adventure title is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025. Developed by Sucker Punch Productions, the game is being positioned as a spiritual successor to Ghost of Tsushima, although it introduces new characters, settings, and gameplay systems. The announcement comes alongside a new story trailer and details about various editions of the game available at launch.

Ghost of Yōtei centers on Atsu, a survivor of a violent attack by a group known as the Yōtei Six. Sixteen years after being left for dead, Atsu returns to her homeland of Ezo (present-day Hokkaido) to track down and eliminate each member of the group. The recently released trailer highlights the intensity of her journey, showing glimpses of the antagonists and the aftermath of their brutal actions.

The game will give players freedom to tackle the story at their own pace. Each of the Yōtei Six can be hunted in any order, offering a non-linear narrative structure. Exploration is another key feature, allowing players to roam the landscape of Ezo, establish temporary camps, and uncover hidden stories across the region. Despite its revenge-driven plot, the game promises emotional depth through Atsu’s evolving relationships with the characters she meets along the way.

Sony also revealed three editions of Ghost of Yōtei:

  • Standard Edition – Priced at $69.99, it includes the full game and pre-order bonuses such as a set of seven PSN avatars and an exclusive in-game mask cosmetic.
  • Digital Deluxe Edition – At $79.99, this version includes the base game, four additional cosmetic items, and early access to the in-game Traveler’s Map.
  • Collector’s Edition – Retailing for $249.99, this bundle includes all Digital Deluxe content plus a range of physical collectibles. These include a replica of Atsu’s mask, a traditional sash, a tsuba (sword guard), art cards, a zeni hajiki coin game with pouch, and a papercraft model of the ginkgo tree where Atsu’s story begins.

Pre-orders for all editions will open on May 2 at 10:00 AM local time.

While the game is launching as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, Sucker Punch has not provided any timeline for when or if the title will expand to other platforms. Industry speculation suggests a potential PC release may not occur until at least 2027.

Sony has also hinted at plans for a broader Ghost of Tsushima universe, with spin-offs for television and film under consideration. For now, Ghost of Yōtei is shaping up to be one of the more prominent PlayStation 5 exclusives for the year, blending open-world exploration with a focused revenge narrative set in a historical Japanese backdrop.

Bloober Team has released the first full gameplay trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn, its newest original survival horror title. The video showcases key elements of the game’s setting, mechanics, and tone, offering a closer look at what players can expect when the game launches in 2025.

Set between two time periods—the 1980s and a bleak post-apocalyptic future—Cronos: The New Dawn puts players in the role of a Traveller, an operative of a mysterious organization known as the Collective. The mission is clear: travel back in time to extract specific individuals before they’re lost in the collapse of civilization. The setting spans the decaying district of New Dawn, heavily inspired by the real-world Nowa Huta district in Poland, with a strong focus on Brutalist architecture and deteriorating urban environments.

The gameplay reveal introduces a central mechanic called “The Merge.” When enemies, referred to as Orphans, are defeated, they don’t remain down unless players take an additional step—burning their remains. If left unattended, fallen Orphans can be absorbed by other enemies through a process called Merging. This results in more powerful, aggressive, and unpredictable creatures. Players must adapt their strategy accordingly, balancing combat and crowd control with environmental awareness.

According to the developers, Cronos: The New Dawn combines elements of body horror, science fiction, and psychological suspense. The atmosphere leans heavily on tension and the unknown, amplified by a soundtrack composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski. The music was created in collaboration with Zazula, a Polish-Ukrainian folk band. The result is a mix of traditional vocal stylings and ambient horror themes, designed to match the unsettling environments and narrative tone.

Combat features include both melee and ranged weapons, with a focus on managing limited resources while navigating warped environments. The trailer also teases several enemy types, each with unique behaviors and designs, adding variety to encounters. Visual effects such as environmental distortion, lighting shifts, and glitch-like transitions support the time travel theme, while also contributing to the unsettling aesthetic.

Narratively, the game hints at multiple characters with complex motives, suggesting a layered story that unfolds across timelines. While exact plot details remain limited, the focus on rescuing key individuals implies branching objectives and possible consequences tied to player choices.

Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game is currently available to wishlist on SteamMicrosoft Store, and PlayStation... Additional updates and reveals are expected in the coming months as development progresses.

New reports suggest that a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is close to being officially announced. Leaked screenshots and recent claims from industry sources have brought fresh attention to the long-rumored project. Originally released in 2006, Oblivion remains one of Bethesda’s most well-known role-playing games, and signs now point to a full remake being in development.

Talk of the remake picked up again last month when known gaming insider NatetheHate stated that an announcement could happen between March and April. That timeline now appears more likely, with Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb saying this week that a reveal could take place as soon as next week.

The studio believed to be handling the development is Virtuos, a company that often supports larger publishers with remasters and remakes. Their involvement was first suggested in leaks dating back to 2021, and fans have since been tracking updates on their official website and developer portfolios. Recent changes have led many to believe that a reveal is being prepared.

Supporting these claims, a number of images have been leaked and are now being shared across forums and social media platforms. These screenshots, collected in a public Imgur album, show updated versions of familiar locations from the original game, including the Imperial City and surrounding countryside. The new version appears to use Unreal Engine 5, offering more advanced lighting, textures, and character models compared to the 2006 release.

One side-by-side comparison image shows how the remake updates key visual elements while keeping the layout and overall atmosphere of the original game. Fans have pointed out how closely the new screenshots match known landmarks and character designs from Oblivion.

Sources familiar with the project say the game is planned for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. It’s also expected to be part of the Xbox Game Pass lineup on launch day. Bethesda has not made any official announcements about the remake so far, and no release date has been confirmed.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was a major step forward for open-world role-playing games at the time of its release. Its large game world, flexible character system, and detailed quests helped it gain a strong following. The success of Oblivion laid the groundwork for Skyrim, which came five years later.

With screenshots now in circulation and multiple sources pointing to an announcement, it seems likely that official news will arrive soon. Fans of the series are watching closely for any updates as anticipation continues to build.

Sony and Microsoft are reportedly working on handheld gaming systems, though early indications suggest the two companies are heading in different directions with their respective projects. According to industry sources and recent leaks, these future handhelds are not expected to compete directly with one another, as their target audiences and technical approaches appear to differ significantly.

Insider reports point to a potential collaboration between Microsoft and ASUS on a handheld device that shares some similarities with the ROG Ally. The rumored project is still in its early stages, but the partnership suggests a Windows-based handheld with Xbox integration could arrive sometime in 2025. While no official confirmation has been provided, industry watchers believe this device could focus on cloud gaming and compatibility with Xbox Game Pass, following Microsoft’s strategy of expanding its ecosystem across multiple form factors.

PlayStation 6 Portable

Meanwhile, Sony is said to be exploring a more traditional console-like PlayStation 6 Portable handheld. Information surfaced in March from leaker Kepler_L2, who has previously provided early details about AMD hardware. According to their posts, Sony is working closely with AMD on a custom chipset for what has been referred to as a “PS6 Portable.” The device, rumored to be based on a 15-watt system-on-chip (SoC) manufactured on a 3 nm process node, is expected to offer performance that sits between the Xbox Series S and the standard PlayStation 5.

Reports suggest that the handheld will be capable of running PlayStation 5-era games, albeit with reduced visual fidelity due to power and bandwidth limitations. Resolution and frame rates may be scaled back to accommodate the constraints of portable hardware. The GPU portion of the SoC is speculated to include fewer than 40 compute units—likely below 36, based on multiple media interpretations—placing it somewhere between Sony’s existing PS5 hardware and Microsoft’s smaller Series S.

Notably, this upcoming PlayStation 6 Portable handheld is not believed to share much in common architecturally with Sony’s next-generation home console, the PS6. While both may utilize AMD technology, the portable device appears to be purpose-built with mobile gaming in mind, rather than being a scaled-down version of the home console.

Sony’s rumored return to the handheld space is drawing interest from long-time fans of the PSP and PS Vita. Although both earlier devices built up dedicated fan bases, they struggled to maintain momentum against Nintendo’s handheld lineup. With more powerful mobile hardware and access to a robust library of PS5 titles, Sony’s new handheld could offer a more competitive experience in the portable gaming market.

As of now, neither Sony nor Microsoft has officially confirmed these developments. More concrete details are expected to emerge over the coming months, especially if launch windows in late 2025 or beyond are accurate.

Bungie has officially unveiled the first extended look at its upcoming title Marathon through a dedicated Gameplay Reveal Showcase. The livestream, broadcast from Bungie headquarters over the weekend, featured commentary from key members of the development team, including Game Director Joe Ziegler, Franchise Art Director Joseph Cross, Senior Design Lead Lars Bakken, Gameplay Director Andrew Witts, and Senior Social Media Manager Andy Salisbury.

The showcase served as a comprehensive update on the project, highlighting everything from game mechanics and player roles to narrative direction and early access opportunities. The most notable news is the announcement of a Closed Alpha Test, which will take place from April 23 to May 4, 2025. The full launch of Marathon is scheduled for September 23, 2025.

Players interested in joining the alpha test can sign up through Bungie’s official Discord server. The alpha is limited to players aged 18 and above and will only be available to residents in North America. According to Bungie, this test will focus on evaluating technical performance and gathering user feedback, and only a small group of players will be granted access. Additional test phases are expected later in development.

The livestream opened with a fast-paced trailer showcasing the game’s gunplay and visual design. Marathon blends competitive extraction-based gameplay with Bungie’s distinct sci-fi aesthetic. The trailer emphasized movement, dynamic combat scenarios, and customizable player characters known as “Runners.”

Bungie also discussed how Marathon fits within the studio’s legacy. While the game is not a direct remake, it is positioned as both a reimagining and a continuation of the original Marathon trilogy released in the 1990s. Narrative Director Julia Nardin explained that returning fans will see familiar elements, though events may unfold differently than in past titles. The aim is to build a persistent world that evolves over time, with new stories and gameplay content delivered across seasonal updates.

In an effort to tie the game’s story more closely to its community, Bungie premiered a cinematic short developed in collaboration with Alberto Mielgo, known for his work on Love, Death & Robots. The short takes viewers to the planet Tau Ceti and gives an early look at the narrative scope of the game, setting the tone for future in-game story development.

Marathon is being designed as a multiplayer-first experience, but Bungie emphasized that storytelling will play a major role. The team intends to deliver narrative content through various in-game activities, community events, and ARG-style (alternate reality game) interactions. The goal is to provide players with a world that feels alive and reactive to their actions.

With the reveal now complete, Bungie is preparing for the next phase in development. More information is expected to be released over the coming months, including deeper dives into weapons, maps, and seasonal content plans. Players can wishlist the game on Steam to stay updated and follow Bungie’s community channels for more details.

As Bungie works toward the September release, the studio is inviting feedback from early testers to help refine core systems. For those unable to participate in the Closed Alpha, additional public tests are anticipated, though no dates have been confirmed.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC has received a new update with the release of Patch 1.1, aimed at improving game stability and fixing several bugs that players have encountered since launch. The patch, now live on all platforms where the game is available, includes performance improvements, UI adjustments, and a number of crash fixes.

According to the developers, this update targets some of the more persistent issues reported by players, particularly related to crashes and lengthy loading stalls in specific areas. One of the main fixes in this patch addresses long stalls that could occur in Downtown Seattle, which had been affecting gameplay for some users.

A crash related to Steam Input has also been resolved. Additionally, players will now see more precise behavior from sliders in the Display menu, which now adjust in full increments regardless of the input method being used—be it mouse, keyboard, or controller.

The patch also includes visual fixes for ultrawide cinematics, an area that had previously shown graphical inconsistencies on certain setups. These adjustments should improve the viewing experience for players using ultrawide monitors.

Leaderboard functionality has also been improved. Friends’ top scores now correctly display on the No Return Daily Run Leaderboard, making it easier to track competitive progress among peers.

One particular fix corrects an audio and video sync issue that occurred when watching the Grounded II documentary included with the game. This issue affected the playback experience for some users and is now resolved.

The update notes also mention ongoing work on autosave problems, particularly those related to cloud services such as OneDrive. The development teams at Nixxes Software and Naughty Dog have identified that autosave interruptions can happen when OneDrive or similar services block access to the game’s save files. As a temporary workaround, players are advised to pause sync for these services while playing. A more permanent fix is in progress.

Shortly after the initial Patch 1.1 release, a follow-up hotfix (version 1.1.10411.0746) was also deployed. This hotfix further improves autosave functionality for users whose Windows Documents folder is located in a cloud service. It also brings performance optimizations for systems with Resizable BAR enabled, helping to improve overall framerate consistency and reduce potential stuttering.

The developers emphasized that they are closely monitoring player feedback and crash reports, and more updates are expected as the PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered continues to evolve.

Players can download the latest patch now through Steam or the Epic Games Store.

Nintendo has announced a delay in pre-order availability for its upcoming Switch 2 console across the United States and Canada. Originally expected to open for reservations on April 9, 2025, the company confirmed that pre-orders will now be held back due to market-related factors. Despite this change, the global launch date of June 5, 2025, remains on schedule.

In a brief statement released by Nintendo of America, the company cited the need to “assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions” as the main reason behind the decision. No new date for the start of U.S. pre-orders has been provided. The delay affects both the standard edition of the console and the special Mario Kart World Pack, which were initially priced at $449.99 and $499.99, respectively.

Related Story: Nintendo Switch 2 Pricing and Game Costs Revealed Following Direct Event

Industry analysts suggest that Nintendo may be reconsidering the console’s pricing ahead of launch. With ongoing discussions surrounding tariffs and global logistics, adjustments to the launch-day manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRPs) are being considered a likely outcome. These could also extend to physical software and accessories, including the upcoming Switch 2 Pro Controller.

The situation also affects Canada, despite initial indications that the region would not be impacted. Nintendo of Canada issued a follow-up statement confirming that Canadian pre-orders, which had been scheduled for the same April 9 launch, are also postponed. The pricing in Canada had been set at CA$ 629.99 for the base model and CA$ 699.99 for the Mario Kart World Pack.

Nintendo of Canada stated that the delay is intended to align the region’s pre-order schedule with the U.S. and that more information will be provided in the future. Retailers, including Walmart and GameStop, have echoed Nintendo’s statement across their social media platforms, confirming the postponement for Canadian customers as well.

The delay comes shortly after Nintendo’s North American showcase event, which gave fans and the press a first in-depth look at the Switch 2’s hardware, features, and game lineup. Enthusiasm around the console remains strong, with high expectations for performance upgrades and expanded gameplay features compared to its predecessor.

While the June launch date has not been affected, customers in North America will now have to wait longer to secure their console units ahead of release. Nintendo has not indicated whether this delay will impact initial shipment volumes or supply availability on launch day. The company is expected to issue an update once it has completed its internal review of market conditions.

Sony is bringing Days Gone back to the spotlight with the launch of Days Gone Remastered on April 25, 2025. The remastered version of the 2019 open-world action game will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC, and it introduces several updates designed to take advantage of current-generation hardware. These include enhanced graphics, performance improvements, and a set of new gameplay modes that expand the core experience.

At the center of the new content is Horde Assault, a survival-based arcade mode that builds on the series’ signature mechanic—large-scale horde battles. In this mode, players are dropped into the Cascade region with only a sidearm and must fight through waves of enemies to reach their bike. The open map contains supply boxes with randomized weapon drops, including a flamethrower that wasn’t available in the original story campaign. With more than 20 weapons to discover and use, each session offers a different challenge.

Horde Assault introduces a new layer of difficulty and replayability. Players face a growing variety of enemies, including Freakers, Breakers, Reachers, and Rager bears. The longer you survive, the more intense the waves become. Reaching the 30-minute mark in any region unlocks the Ultimate Horde, a never-ending wave of enemies designed to push players to their limits.

To help players manage the increasing difficulty, Horde Assault includes a new set of Injectors. These act as gameplay modifiers and are split into two types—Positive and Negative. Positive Injectors increase your score potential but also raise the challenge, while Negative Injectors make survival easier at the cost of a lower score. There are 24 Injectors in total, and they can significantly alter the gameplay. Examples include Exploding Freakers, where enemies detonate upon death, and Wanted, which starts the game at maximum heat level.

Progression is tied to a 35-level reward path. As players level up, they unlock Injectors, cosmetic patches, and six new playable characters from the Days Gone universe. Characters such as O’Brian, Lisa, and Skizzo are now available in this mode for the first time. Cosmetic patches earned through Horde Assault will also carry over into the story mode, offering visual continuity for players who want to show off their achievements.

In addition to the reward path, there is a Reputation Phase that offers bonus unlocks for players who achieve high scores in each of the four regions. One of these rewards includes a long-requested item related to the player’s bike, though Sony has not provided details yet.

Days Gone Remastered will also include updated visuals, improved frame rates, and support for PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements. The new features are bundled into the Broken Road DLC for PC players. For those who already own the PlayStation 4 version of the game, a $10 upgrade path to the Remastered version is available.

Pre-orders for Days Gone Remastered are now live on the PlayStation Store. PC users can wishlist the Broken Road DLC on Steam and Epic Games Store. The new content aims to bring both returning fans and new players back into the harsh world of Deacon St. John, offering more ways to explore, survive, and take on the endless threat of the horde.

Bungie is preparing to unveil the first official gameplay footage of Marathon, its upcoming extraction shooter, during a live showcase on Saturday, April 12 at 10 AM PT. The event will be broadcast directly from Bungie HQ via the official Marathon Twitch channel and will feature a panel of key development leads discussing the project and answering questions from viewers in real time.

The panel will include Game Director Joe Ziegler, Franchise Art Director Joseph Cross, Senior Design Lead Lars Bakken, Gameplay Director Andrew Witts, and Senior Social Media Manager Andy Salisbury. The session will offer insights into the creative direction of the game and provide a closer look at how Marathon is shaping up.

In the days leading up to the reveal, Bungie engaged the community with a series of cryptic puzzles, secret transmissions, and hidden messages. These activities were orchestrated under the narrative framework of a resistance group known as MIDA, which has become a recurring faction within the Marathon universe. The puzzles spanned multiple platforms, including audio transmissions, coded language, and altered images.

The first big discovery came when players decoded a trail of signals that led to chat logs from Traxus OffWorld Industries. The logs had access details for the CyAC Terminal, which then gave players a tool to decrypt more clues.

Further progression required players to solve a hex-based language puzzle connected to a layered audio sequence. The final step in the chain revealed a new Discord server dedicated to the game—a secure hub for players involved in the unfolding narrative. Joining the server grants access to a personal Digital Access Card (DAC), which acts as a player’s unique identifier and enables participation in faction-based missions within the community.

Players uncovered a surveillance feed linked to Tau Ceti IV, a fictional planet in the game. It was first shown in the “Save the Date” trailer. The feed was unlocked after thousands of players decoded geolocation signals from a satellite map.

Following the showcase, Bungie plans to expand community engagement through additional developer livestreams, Q&A sessions, and interactive content hosted within the game’s official Discord server. These efforts aim to build momentum around Marathon while allowing fans to stay connected with ongoing developments.

The Marathon Gameplay Reveal Showcase marks the first major update on the project since its announcement and is expected to provide the clearest look yet at how Bungie plans to reimagine the iconic title for a new generation of players.

The stream will go live at twitch.tv/marathonthegame, and viewers are encouraged to follow the channel for updates and notifications when the event begins.
